Without help and intervention, people in impoverished rural areas continue to live in a cycle of:

1-3-5 Pathway to life
This approach is designed to help families emerge from poverty within one year through fair wages paid to them as Hired Hands, then earn middle-class income within three years as Partner Farmers and become Owner Operators of the enterprise on the 5th year.
When they become Owner Operators, we will exit the area, leaving behind trained, experienced and stable farmers and strong families living in thriving and productive communities where everyone is growing, learning and contributing.
YEAR 1
This phase is the training stage of the program where our farmers are trained on the job in organic production, farm management, financial literacy, leadership, values and life skills. Because accountability is one of the keys to the success of this program, we will provide a healthy environment where personal and corporal responsibility is practiced. During this stage, the wages and benefits our farmers receive are enough to support the family’s basic needs, essentially putting them above the poverty threshold.
YEAR 3
Partner Farmers
As Partner Farmers, they are no longer receiving wages but are sharing in the profits of the production. While they continue learning all aspects of organic production, values and life skills, they are expected to scale this up in their respective backyards, giving them not only their daily dose of organic vegetables but also additional income. They are now dependable, self-reliant, productive, skilled and empowered small rural farmers who are harnessing their God-given abilities and are on their way to fulfilling their goals and dreams for them and their family.
YEAR 5
Owner operator
They are now major investors who enjoy a good share in the profits of the production. Financially independent, they continue to raise strong and healthy families and build a vibrant, thriving and productive community for them and their children. With all the training and values formation throughout the 1-3-5 Pathway to Life, families in year 5 are now empowered and motivated to inspire and help others have a better life and fulfill their dreams as we replicate this model in other areas of rural Mindanao and beyond.
